Default 97 Malibu gas hand - 05-22-2005 , 12:36 AM

Recently put a new cam shaft sensor on under the power steering pump
and hooked my battery back up. When I started the car I noticed the
gas hand was below the peg. It has been there ever since. How does
this happen and more importantly is how to correct it? Has anyone else
ever had this happen? The idiot light still works but it is very
annoying. Thanks

TOP POST!!!!!!!
Well fo starters the nly way this will happen is when you connect your
battery and you have the ignition on.....Just take a small wire right
where the little button sticks out of the glass there is enough room to
to work it in there to hit the needle....May take a couple of tries but
you can get it....I de this many of times for the idiots at my shop..

Thanks for the help. I will give it a shot. I am assuming I will have
to lift the needle up and over the peg?

Yeah most of the time if you hook the wire just a little you can snag it

your brain. I have read lots of posts since I have logged back on nad
you seem to know your stuff and use technical language I can
understand. I will post a new thread with the questions with your name
as the header in case you do not get this reply. Thnaks again.
