i have a 98 malibu 3.1 v6 with 115000 miles i had been havin trouble startin my car up because the theft system light kept coming on and now my car wont start at all just keeps cranking, anyone know how to disable the theft system??? or any solution to this thanx |

Wrong advice you bozo. Do NOT turn the key to on position for 10 minutes, that will only drain your battery. Instead, take the key out until the theft light stops flashing, then try again. If the problem occurs again and again, it could either be the chip in your key has gone bad, or the sensor in the ignition has gone bad. Either of these requires contacting a Chevy dealer to fix. |

I have done this way dozens of times without drainging my battery. This is a way to reset the anti theft system, if you take the key out, it won't reset teh system, do a search for it, trust me on this subject, I have a 2001 with the anti theft system activating.
