Default 99 Malibu STALLS when going over big BUMPS in road - 07-10-2006 , 12:34 PM

My 99 Malibu 6 CYL auto trans runs fine EXCEPT.

When going over bumps such as railroad tracks @ 35mph or more sometimes
the engine stalls.

The red lights on the dash all seem to go on and the fuel gauge goes to
empty,

I shift into neutral and the car starts right up and keeps going as
normal with no further problems. No check engine light comes on.

This raerely happens and the bump must be substantial for the car to
stall.

This has been going on for over a year and the situation hasn't
deteriorated.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

David Englewood NJ USA

Sounds like a loose electrical connection. Maybe something in the
connections to the computer or ignition.
