I have never needed service on any Chevy air conditioner; have had several
in the past 25 years, most with over 200,000 km on them.
On our 2000 Mailbu, the low side service port is about 5 inches from the
firewall.
Loacate the pair of aluminium tubes coming from the firewall. These are
loacated between the engine and the firewall, on the passenger side. You
will see a plastic cap on the larger tube; ours is blue colored. I am not
sure of the correct fitting.
If the refrigerant has leaked out, it will be necessary to find and repair
the leak, or the new refrigerant will leak out again.
Also, when there is a leak, the refrigeration oil leaks out along with the
refirigerant. If the compressor runs without oil, it will wear out very
quickly.
The compressor has pistons and cylinders, just like the engine; and we know
what happens to an engine when there is no oil. The same thing happens to
the compressor. They are not cheap!
Good luck,
David

Hi, I was wondering if someone could tell me where the low side service
port is on a 2000 Malibu.
Thanks
