i know the problem exisits on the malibu when the climate control is
set 1,2,3 with hte resistor, and that is how mine started out, but 4
and 5 no longer work on mine either. when you turn it on, the light
comes on just as it did before, when it was just 1,2,3, but now 5
doesnt even work. is it possible i have an additional problem, other
then the resistor????? please help

Well, mine kept "dying" one speed at a time until I replaced the resistor
pack. About $40.

I just tired replacing it on my 2001 today. Put the new one from the dealer
in, and only "5" worked...1-4 nothing. But the old one back in, and 3-5
worked...
Have others had the same problem with the new one, and replacing/fixing
additonal parts resolve the problem?
