I have a 1998 chevy malibu 4 cylinder with roughly 140k miles I have not
had any issues with this car until november and i have had it for 4 years.
As I was driving down the road it started to chug as if it was going to
shut off but didn't then later it just shut off but turns right back
on.... we have replaced the fuel pump, checked the cadilac converter, and
checked all the wires changed the fuel filter and nothing has fixed the
problem I have not had a car for 3 months now it starts fine and runs good
on level ground but once you start up a hill it cuts out my mechanic is
stumped no codes are showing up either any help is really appreciated.

Is the 'Theft System' light on the bottom left coming on?
You could try turning the key on and waiting 10 minutes,
see if that 'resets' the Passlock system.
Just a guess.

I had a '89 S blazer that ran fine until you stomped it or went up a hill
then it would start missing or lose power like it was running out of gas.
Ran fine on the flats. Turns out the ignition coil was bad. It did not set
any code either.
