Out of the blue there seems to be a strong gasoline smell coming from
the car. I have a 2001 Malibu and just had the intake manifold
repaired on 12/25. Can it be related? Please help.

Look at the top of the engine and see if there are 2 stainless steel pipes.
If so, these pipes deliver gas to the injectors and probably are not
properly set. Around the area of the pipes you might see some standing gas.
If this is the case, take your car back to the repair shop and ask that the
pipes be set correctly for free.

I assume your car has a 3.1L V6...I HAD a 98 Malibu with the same problem.
