Default Help Regarding Rear Brakes - 02-22-2008 , 09:43 PM

Hi,
I recently changed the rear disc brakes on my 2000 Chevy Impala 3400. The
brakes seem very tight. I replaced ceramic with semi-metallic. The
passenger side rear is throwing tremendous amounts of heat. I took the
brake off and it was cracked. I got a new one and put it back on. I did
not bleed the brakes. I didn't have to to get the brakes on. If I bleed
the brakes, do you think this might loosen up the rear passenger side wheel.
Thanks Holly I did
open the brake fluid to let some pressure out, I am at a big lose. thanks

i had the same issue on my 2004 malibu classic. come to find out the
semimetallic and the ceramic don’t quite work the same on this car.
After i replaced the pads back to factory. and readjusted the brakes.
i was fine i still get a little drag but come to find out on mine it
is from the custom wheels i have on my car. but all is well on the
brakes....keep them clean and you should be fine.....the rear brakes
on these particular cars tend to produce alot of dust. i now have my
tires pulled every time i get an oil changed :lol
