Default Horn Relay - 04-06-2008 , 12:04 PM

Recently my horn stoped working.

Yesterday I measured the connections to the horn relay and found the
12volts is measuring 10.4v.

I verified the battery and other relays to have 12-volts, but this is the
only one to have less voltage.

Does anyone know why? Does Chevy use a separate circuit or different ground
causing a difference in voltage?

Thanks in advance.

I suspect that you are using a digital voltmeter, probably the worst device
ever used for electrical troubleshooting. When you measure an open circuit
with a digital voltmeter, slight leakages will usually cause some
insignificant voltage to be read. In troubleshooting, you either have power
or you don't. In your case, you don't, and you need to check accordingly. If
you want a good troubleshooting tool, get a 12V test lamp.
