Default loosing water and overheating - 11-21-2005 , 09:42 PM

my car has been heating up very quickly and i have recently noticed that
water is draining from a small hose located on the back wall of the
engine. i have also noticed that when the car starts to heat up, smoke
comes out of the the vents. the smoke has the smell of anti-freeze. i'm
not sure from where the small hose got disconnected or why its just
hanging down and draining water from the loose end. thanks.

That "hose" you are referring to is most likely the drain for your
heating/air conditioning module under the dash. Your symptoms are classic
signs of a heater core leak. That's why you are seeing coolant coming out
the drain in the engine compartment.
