I just removed the air filter cover and the insde was full of oil. What would cause that? Well, it is caused by a diference in pressure in the crankcase and the air filter. I think that year may have had a PCV valve. It should be located on one of the valve covers. There should be 2 lines going to the air filter, only one has the valve. Take it off, shake it. If it rattles, its ok. If it doesnt rattle, bring it with you to the local parts store. They are usually cheap, about $5-10. If it is not that, check those lines for a blockage. If not that, take it to a mechanic. Micheal Anything in the US after around 67 would likely have a PCV valve, |
