Hey, I have a 2001 Malibu. I just purchased an aftermarket GPS unit.
I'm trying to run the power cord, which has the cigarette lighter
adapter on the end.

Basically I'd like the cord to be out of sight. How can I remove the
hard plastic piece that runs up the side of the windshield? I tried to
tuck the wire behind it, but it keeps popping out. Any suggestions??

Those side pillars pull off. Make sure you're pulling straight off (as in
towards the other pillar), otherwise you'll bend the tabs off. I ran the
antenna and power lines for a satellite radio system through here no
problem.
