Looking at a used Malibu-2005 with the 3.5 V6 engine.

For folks that have that engine, what mileage do you actually get?

I have a 2004 Maxx Lt; I drive 20% City / 80% Highway.

I get about 28-32 depending on my speed on the highway. I find that if I
keep the vehicle at 68 - 72 miles per hour I can average 34 mpg on the
highways. If I keep my city driving constant I can get an average of
24-26 for the city portions of my driving.

Daily Drivin - 20 miles city / 80 Miles Highway (no traffic)

I have A 2004 Malibu 4 cyl. and i get 27-33 mpg..it depends on where i get
my gas too. I use Exxon, Shell, and Texaco alot and i get 30-33mpg.
