that depends on a lot of things..do you mean squeal tire, or tires????
depending on your speed the lockup feature may be disabled.. think of what
would happen if one wheel started to spin(squeal), then the differential
locked up applying equal power to the other wheel... you could very easily
spin out.... I don't remember the speed, but I think it has to be below 20
or so to allow lock up... there are a few other features like how much
different the speeds have to be... plus the fact that the other wheel is
spinning that alone could keep it from locking up... centrifugal
lockup(assuming that's what you have..) is desiged to work at slow speeds...
not pulling out taking a right and booking it into traffic.... It's just not
meant for it.... Bobo

Anybody notice weird lock up on their autolocking differential? I
recently
purchased a 2003 2500HD. It is supposed to have an auto locking
differntial.

One thing I have noticed is that it has a tendency to squeal tires when
cornering quickly. I don't mean at slam the throttle speeds, but at
similar
speeds to some of my other trucks this one squeals and they did not.

This is on clean, dry, asphalt.

Is that weird, normal, or problematic?

sounds like it was going slow enough to allow the diff to lock up......
might be a little annoying, but probably normal....

Thats kind what I meant. It has squeaked the tires and then got a little
squirrley a coupel times making a quick left onto the road.
