All, I have a 1995 Grand Cherokee Limited ( 5.2 liter ) with only 41,000 miles, and a strange problem. Lately, when the fuel tank is below 1/2 full, it is warm outside ( ambient temp 70+ ) and the vehicle has been driven for 50+ miles, at higway speeds, the engine will begin to stumble and gag like it is running out of fuel. This only happens upon heavier acceleration ( like pulling out of a toll-booth ), or climbing a hill. If I barely depress the gas pedal, it runs fine. It also idles fine, and, If I stop and refuel, the problem seems to go away immediately. I have never noticed this around town. It acts like it is starving for fuel. This problem does not seem to set any codes, or illuminate the check engine light..... Any ideas????/ Thanks Jeffrey |
