Default Towing - 05-22-2007 , 02:02 AM

My question is this. I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, I am towing
a 28 ft TT, about 7900 lbs, I use the TOW/HAUL button when towing,
Should I also take it out of Overdrive.

This would require me to push the button in twice, if I do that will
the TOW feature to disabled.

Hope this question mades some sense.

I'm confused. I thought engaging TOW/HAUL disengaged overdrive.

It does on mine, anyway. (2004 model)

My understanding is: it is acceptable to have OD engaged while towing as
long as the transmission isn't "hunting". That is, down-shifting and
then up-shifting repeatedly.

For me, at 7900lbs, I would probably disengage OD to be safe. And I'd
install a tranny temp gauge and a pyro.

That's my $.02.
