Default My friend WANTS me to drive his Ferrari... - 06-16-2006 , 07:05 PM

....and I'm scared.

It's not "the money", it's not mystique, it's not that I don't know
how to drive...

It's most like when another friend first asked me if I wanted to hold
his new born baby...

....Don't want to be the guy she spits-up on.

(My god-daughter got me from head to toe...)

I know what you mean...

And if you do take up the offer (which of course you will) how
aggressively will you dare drive it?

Of course she's bomb-proof, but there are two ways in which you can have
your friend glaring at you for the rest of the day.

1) The famous cold gear shift.

I'd wont do much damage, but try shifting the lower gears too quickly
when she's cold and it will sound as if you've dropped a spanner in the
box.

2) Ground clearance (depends on front spoiler - Euro version on a QV is
the worst... ..I should know)

Now this CAN do serious damage (ask T308). Watch out for kerbs/speed
bumps/etc. Most treacherous are side roads that lead down to a junction
that has some kind of drainage channel running along the side. You
approach the junction and slow for traffic, see that it's clear and
accelerate onto the main road - unaware of how close to the tarmac the
spoiler already is... then the front wheels drop into the drainage
channel: BANG!

Your friend will glare at you all week if you do that.

-Good luck.

Paul
