Hi All, I need to replace the above mentioned on my 1985 Mustang GT with a 5spd. Can anyone make some suggestions as to what kind would be the best in terms of performance? Please let me know. Thanks. |

Please let me know. Thanks. First, you won't really gain any performance by changing plug wires. Unless yours are really, really bad. Then you're restoring power, and not gaining it. SO don't waste time (and money) looking for a performance plug wire. Second, bigger is not better. Your plug wires only need to be big enough handle the power of the ignition system. It would be like running a 00 battery cable to run your factory radio. It will work, but it's not necessary. The ignition will transfer only the amount of power needed to create a spark. In an essentially stock engine, stock plug wires work just as well as high dollar racing wires. I've used Summit 8.0mm wires on many vehicle with excellent results. They are cheap ($35), and you build them yourself. So they fit everything exactly the way you want them to. -- .boB 1997 HD FXDWG - Turbocharged! 2001 Dodge Dakota QC 5.9/4x4/3.92 1983 GMC Jimmy - Mountain Beater 1966 Mustang Coupe - Daily Driver 1966 FFR Cobra - Ongoing project |

Ford recommends that you use Motorcraft original ignition wires for both performance and reliability.
