Oh, forgot to mention that we now have all the fuel components to swap
out, so we will be doing that tonight and tomorrow night and using a 5
gallon fuel cell for a supply untl we see what condition the gas tanks
are in - it has 2. One original and one aftermarket tank. The secondary
tank is terribly corroded, so we will likely remove it for now. My son
wants to put another one back in for LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG road trips.

Videos today!!!

Thanks again to all,

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!

AMAZING folks - we actually got the Ranchero to RUN!!! Well, only for 5
seconds, but I have VIDEO OF IT!!! (links below) Only 2 weeks late on
my objective. I
blame the heat wave, so technically, factoring in the 2 week delay, we
are
ON SCHEDULE with the progress!!!

This week we will replace the carburetor, fuel pump and fuel filters
along
with associated fuel lines. We are NOT going to use the gas tank until
we
have it inspected, so we will use a 5 gallon gas can to pull fuel from.

We are also going to flush the coolant, do an oil and filter change
adding
in some slick 50 for good measures and we will see what happens!!!

It was an amazing day!!!

We have not pulled any carpet up inside yet, but we do anticipate a bit
of
rust in there, although not a lot as the car was under the cover of
several
large Pine trees for the 24 years it sat.

Shock towers look to be in very good condition as well with limited
rust.

As soon as I can, sometime in August, I will be finishing up the
redesign of
the web site as well as putting together a large photo gallery AND a
mailing
list for those who would like updates on the progress of the Ranchero
restoration project.

Take Care and chat with you all soon...

I wanted to share our restoration project - "LANE". Lane is the name
my
son
has chosen for his 1967 Ford Ranchero 500XL, 289, C4, all the parts
are
there and she is finally at home!

You can visit her HERE - http://www.my67ranchero.com/

We will be documenting the whole restoration project on this web

check back every now and then and see what we've done on "Lane" -
she's a

Have you kissed your BlueOval car today? Maybe you should!?!?

rust in there, although not a lot as the car was under the cover of
several
large Pine trees for the 24 years it sat.

Shock towers look to be in very good condition as well with limited
rust.

As soon as I can, sometime in August, I will be finishing up the
redesign of
the web site as well as putting together a large photo gallery AND a
mailing
list for those who would like updates on the progress of the
Ranchero
restoration project.

Take Care and chat with you all soon...

I wanted to share our restoration project - "LANE". Lane is the
name
my

has chosen for his 1967 Ford Ranchero 500XL, 289, C4, all the

are
there and she is finally at home!

You can visit her HERE - http://www.my67ranchero.com/

We will be documenting the whole restoration project on this web

check back every now and then and see what we've done on
"Lane" -
she's a

Have you kissed your BlueOval car today? Maybe you should!?!?

Hi all,

It's me, TAZ, and I have the videos FINALLY up on the server... <sigh>
I had a heckuva time keep the FTP connection up long enough.

Go to;
http://www.my67ranchero.com/media/video/

** This weekend is the one ** - we are replacing the fuel pump, all
fuel
lines and the carburetor. We are also putting wheels back on the car
and taking it off the stands / blocks. No, we do not plan to drive it -
YET.

Lastly, the web site will look MUCH nicer soon - I am working on a new
design. Will let you know when that is done too.

Enjoy!

Well, only for
5
seconds, but I have VIDEO OF IT!!! (links below) Only 2 weeks late on
my objective. I
blame the heat wave, so technically, factoring in the 2 week delay,
we
are
ON SCHEDULE with the progress!!!

This week we will replace the carburetor, fuel pump and fuel filters
along
with associated fuel lines. We are NOT going to use the gas tank
until
we
have it inspected, so we will use a 5 gallon gas can to pull fuel
from.

We are also going to flush the coolant, do an oil and filter change
adding
in some slick 50 for good measures and we will see what happens!!!

It was an amazing day!!!

No matter. Glad to hear that the resurrection is moving along. Keep us posted.
I cringed when you started it with the old oil....please tell me that you at least
primed it first!! (cranked it over until you got oil pressure).

I'm kind of surprised that no one on this group has complained about the ongoing
posting of your resto/resurrection efforts. I've enjoyed it as have others judging
from the replies to your posts, but this seems like something that would draw fire
from folks that have differing views about what's acceptable here and what is not.
Oh well, I for one don't object.
Keep up the good work and keep posting updates. I would personally like to see this
car go from derelict to driver. From your descriptions, it was pretty close as found,
so you're nearly half way there. Make sure that you thoroughly inspect the brakes,
they are pretty old obviously, especially the hydraulic system. Safety First!
