Default Help if you can.... - 02-01-2007 , 11:14 PM

Ok I have three Questions to ask here hopefully someone will can assist me.

2006 Ford 250 SD Truck:

1. There is a small bubble on my dash next to the front windshield and I have no Idea what it is for. I was told it was for an alarm light that flashed when it was active. I was also told it had something to do with the daylight running lights. Then I was told it was for my auto sensing dimmer for my review mirror. What is the actual function of this mysterious bubble?

2. I also have some AUX switches that came in the truck. Does anyone know where the wires are located so I can find them to hook up accessories? I have some free wires under the hood by the drivers side that are solid colors and I have no Idea what they are for I thought they were the ones I needed but there was no power to them. There are so many other wires under the dash and where the manual said they were I could not find them. Any ball park figure would help.

3. Where Can I find a repair Manual Haynes or Chilton for a 2006 Ford SD? I am assuming that they are not out yet I have looked everywhere. I just wonder how long of a wait its going to be before they do hit the market.

1996 Ford Explorer:

1. My brake light went out on the back hatch the long one above the window. I looked under the panel and there is a device saying warning high voltage. Is this the part I need to replace for that light to work again or is there an actual bulb under it?

That bubble on your dash is a sunload sensor. If you have EATC or automatic
climate control then it will use that sensor to kick up the a/c if the sun
is hot.

Those AUX switches are known as upfitter switches. They are tied into a
relay box above the glove box on the pass. side of the dash. According to
the wiring diagram in the EVTM there are 4 relays for 4 switches (2-30A and
2-10A). Relays 1&2 are hooked to the switches on the left side and are 30A.
Those relays are also on the left side of the block (should be numbered).
The switches on the right side are for relays 3&4 and are 10A. The 30A
relays have OG/LG wire for #1, OG wire for #2, OG/YE for #3, and OG/LB for
#4. All should be dead headed within 12" of the relay box.

You should be able to get a manual from Helm. They are expensive but from
what I hear some of the best there are out there.

http://www.helminc.com/helm/homepage...en-US:official

The manual is available or atleast the workshop manual is for $190.00.

High voltage??? Well if you consider 13-14v high volts, whatever.. LOL If
you have an electric window, it might have a capacitor, which can hold a few
volts.

This link should help you out. The bulletin states it is for 2005 SD,
but my 2006 was wired identical.

JP, thanks for the link man. I totally forgot that they had that info on
that site.. I guess they should revise the EVTM though, cause the locations
a comepletely different from what that webpage shows.

replaced.

Not a 914, but the larger one. I forget which one it is.

Once I get past the door trim on the back hatch there is two screws that
hold a long electronic piece for the upper break light. Is that the cause
or is there a bulb behind that?

Thanks

Any one know anything about this?

Ok I found out that there is a BALLAST for the "HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LAMP" for
My 1996 Explorer. Would this be the cause of the High Mount Brake lamp not
working or is there usually a Bulb in play behind it.

Thanks

Yeah, it's not just a light bulb, it's the driver for the LEDs. Someone
I know had to get it replaced and it was in hundreds of $. I suggested
that he get one from a junkyard.
