Default How do I Replace the Horn in a '97 Explorer? - 07-05-2003 , 02:12 PM

One tone of the horn in my '97 Explorer has gone dead. I know it's located on the driver's side somewhere below the battery / headlight area.

Can anyone walk me through how to get to the horn so I can replace it?

Thanks,

Tim Evans

It is a pain in the ass, but can be done. Expect to get dirty and sore. You
have to remove the liner in the drivers side wheel well. Once that is out
you will see the horns. Its a tight fit, and you need some dexterity to get
the bolts out, but aside from that, you shouldnt have a problem getting them
out. I had a 97 xploder and the horns went on mine as well.
