Help w/ Lincoln Steering prob- left turn squealing

This is a kind of groan/squeal, only on left turns, esp @ low speeds.I
can feel a bit of tightness in the steering wheel as this happens.Loud
enough to be heard over engine. Help!

Year and model would help immensely. If your moniker is any help, it's a 98

Continental. If so, the steering Rack and Pinion is highly suspect. It's shedding
debris into the pump. Both are now damaged and need replacement IMHE.
