Better that GM etal should move their corporate headquarter to Japan and reap the benefits of Japan Inc. Just think NO US federal corporate taxes. They can get ride of the unions, pay their employees less, offer then fewer benefits with no structured pension plan. By becoming a Japanese corporation buyers will assume the products are better, as well believing the vehicles are more fuel efficient.. Just think of what that will do for the US as well. Once they are no longer an American corporation there will be no US manufactures to worry about then they, and the current Japanese auto manufactures, can make all of the parts and the cars in low wage, less regulated countries and eliminate a lot of the pollution in the US. The price of their vehicles will go up since the vehicles sold by the Japanese auto manufactures, who already enjoy those competitive advantages, sell for 20% to 30% more than domestics ![]() mike "George Orwell" <Use-Author-Supplied-Address-Header@[127.1]> wrote in message news:c764523b9a0d9820074d3d43dc55a89f (AT) mixmaster (DOT) it...
