It appears that the transmission has been replaced in my truck in the
past and now the speedometer cable will not hook up to the connector
that sticks out of the transmission. Where can i get a new cable or
connector?

Try National Parts Depot. In addition to Mustang, they have a lot of truck
stuff. If not, any speedometer shop should be able to fit a custom cable.
