The one change I noticed beginning to watch the current season:

CAR NUMBERS !

Many probably already know about this change, don't think it's a
big deal, etc. I grew up watching cars with the numbers
prominently displayed, instead of being hidden in small numbers
behind the front tire, so to me, it was a nice change.

I agree that it is only cosmetic, and does nothing for the
technical merits of the series.
