Assuming no unforeseen events, Nick Heidfeld will make his 100th GP start in Melbourne next Sunday. |

Didn't he reach his 100th GP in Bahrain?????? His debut was in Melbourne 2000, which was GP #647. Sepang was GP #752 which indicates 106 races during his career. However, he missed the last five races of 2005 meaning that Sepang was his 101st GP. But, in those 101 GPs he failed to start twice meaning that Sepang was his 99th start. He didn't start the 2000 European GP after failing a weight check during practice, and last year he failed to start at Indianapolis. |

Didn't Kimi start at the same time as Heidfeld? Also, he's not in your 50-or-more list, but the McLaren website credits him with 89 starts. |

Finally, I'd thought that JPM did a bit more starts, but your statistics are probably much more reliable than my brain. |

I have no explanation why he's not in my list, although I think he has 88 starts - his only non-start being at Indy last year. 88 starts means he will reach 100 before JPM - and will be quicker too. |

JPM should also reach 100 starts in China (assuming he doesn't miss any races in the interim). He would become the driver to reach 100 starts in the shortest time - a record currently shared by Ralf & Button. The other four below are the only current drivers with 50 or more starts.
