I honestly don't believe that Ecclestone will give out GPs for anything
but money in *his* pocket, |
Of course, it will only happen if Bernie is satisfied with money deal.
And BTW, he denied it. He said that Canada and Britain would sign in a
matter of days. And when pressured about South Korea, about which there
are doubts if they will be ready on time, he said that they will be ready,
and if not the calendar will have one less GP, instead of a replacement.
But this was on the beginning of the week. Yesterday the Portuguese
Autosport quoted him as giving a 48 hour ultimatum to Silverstone (I think
the real deadline is December, 11th, when there is a World Council meeting).

and the FIA can't be caught trying to make him do so.
Remember, FOM and FIA have to be at arm's length. |
Officially who approves the F1 calendar ? I think it is the FIA's World
Council ? Of course, in practice Bernie and Jean Todt will make a quiet
deal and the World Council will rubber-stamp it.
