Several Portuguese newspapers are today reporting that Algarve has a good chance to be in the 2010 championship (replacing one of the GPs which are still uncertain). The good news is that the circuit is nice and challenging. |

I did not know about that track, went to google maps, viewed the 'satellite' photos. What! Is the longest straight maybe 300 meters / 900 feet? |
|
Looks to me to be almost impossible for passing. |

The good news is that the circuit is nice and challenging. And it relatively close to where I live, so I could go to see the race! I did not know about that track, went to google maps, viewed the 'satellite' photos. What! Is the longest straight maybe 300 meters / 900 feet? The main straight is relatively long: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Aut%C3%B3dromo_Internacional_do_Algarve .png Looks to me to be almost impossible for passing. It should be fun. I think there isn't any horizontal surface at all. It's all uphill and downhill like a rollercoaster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XWky2-lAkY The A1GP and test drivers that have been there say that there are good places for overtaking. Daymn! (in the words of Will Smith) a new F1 course that has *hills*? |
