With words like that and a .sig like yours, you're in danger of
getting a reputation!

My .sig of a long time ago used to be "You're my wife now", a quote
from The League of Gentlemen, the amount of hassle that caused was
amazing ;-)

d/239cdc020ff7ec7f/5635d561b8b3eb01

And that was just *one* of them..

That was an interesting read. That "Harriet" thing was scary. A fully
paid up, card carrying member of the bra burning brigade. And then, when
your just getting into it, there's the odd posting about Amigas, Acorns
and Spectrums which just add to the whole surreal experience.

You couldn't make it up

I borrowed one for a week or two, Forth was quite interesting but the
manual didn't cover the important bits like graphics well enough for
me, as I was into writing games at the time. Also the keyboard was
terrible, it was similar to the Spectrum (the Ace was designed by
people who also worked on the Spectrum) but actually worse as it
didn't register keypresses very well.

Nothing like a straight answer eh ;-)
I would have thought it was obvious if you stopped hugging yourself
long enough to think about it.

I was simply pointing out that you were being Mr Obvious when you
posted about the newsjan02 link being news from jan 02.

That you come back with a "no shit Sherlock" response to my "no shit
Sherlock" post looks like it went far over your head.

Nevermind eh?

Yep, it was given to me when I worked for a marketing company back in
the '80's. They also gave me an Oric and, what was best of all, an
ATARI 800, which I loved. The graphics on that were brilliant.

Hmm, you seem to have missed that someone missed it, hence me pointing
out that he'd missed it...

Secondly the "jan02" in the URL isn't conclusive, I checked elsewhere..

I think I've got an Atari 800 in the loft somewhere, IIRC it had a
similar architecture to the Amiga, having been designed by largely the
same people.

Yep, and a big advance on the 400, which had a membrane keyboard as
opposed to the 800 which had proper keys.

The BBC B was always my favourite though, excellent version of BASIC,
although I could only afford a Sinclair Spectrum, but I did actually
do a lot of programming on it. I've never seen an 800 working, the
one in the loft was bought at a car boot sale and never even tried.
Maybe when I finish decorating my office I might pull it down! I
think I've got a 400 up there too, as well as a whole list of other
bits of kit including a Mattel Aquarius..
