Zidane's charming old mum wants Materazzi castrated. (true)

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/blog.asp?blogid=22&postid=831

I was actually expecting her to want Marco beheaded.

The truth is Zidane was pissed off because France was incapable of
scoring on Italy...particulary Cannavaro, Buffon and Gattuso. The
French were throwing elbows and diving in desperation.

Zidane was also pissed because Materazzi scored the only legitimate
goal of the match. Luca Toni scored the other but the ref incorrectly
said Toni was offside.

Zidane has a long history of thuggish behavior with 15 red cards and
various assaults on other players. The French foolishly claim Zindane
is some god. If they want someone to look up to with world class
talent, a true champion & sportsman they have a great one in Sebastian
Loeb. Zidane is a common thug.

How many times do you have to be told? Toni was offside, as were the two
Italians standing next to him when the ball was played. I know it's a
difficult rule and I think the new version of it is possibly the
stupidest rule in football, ever, but you're still wrong.

How awful!! I'm shocked!
One can't even call a sick old lady and her daughter whores these days
without her getting all upset. What is the world coming to?

Will you look at that...
Subtle as usual, you fucking bigot.

Frank, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, you ignorant
bandwagon-jumper. Have you ever watched ANY of his 800 matches before
the WC final a week ago, you fucking idiot? No, of course not.

If the French were the only ones deifying him that'd be one thing. But
no, the WHOLE FUCKING FOOTBALLING WORLD turned him into a god years ago.

Watch that, enjoy the extraordinary skills and the avalanche of goals,
and then have the good grace to eat your words.

Nothing difficult about it. Even a simpleton like me could see it was
offside...
Well, the new rule is complicated - as I understand it, had Toni been
onside but the other two offside, it should have stood, under the
current rule. However, they were all offside so in that case it was easy
to apply.

Well, the new rule is complicated - as I understand it, had Toni been
onside but the other two offside, it should have stood, under the
current rule.

I'm pretty sure De Rossi should/would have been penalised in that case.
From wikipedia he's offside if he does any of the following:

* Interfering with play means playing or touching the ball passed
or touched by a teammate.
* Interfering with an opponent means preventing an opponent from
playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the
opponent's line of vision or movements or making a gesture or movement
which, in the opinion of the referee, deceives or distracts an opponent.
* Gaining an advantage by being in an offside position includes
playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or crossbar or playing a
ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside
position.

So he's not offside if he wasn't in the way of the ball, an opponent, or
the goalie, and since he was next to Toni and none of the French players
could get near the ball because they were too far away, he could have
been ruled onside.
