Default Good news for Ferrari - 02-27-2007 , 08:38 PM

From The RenaultF1 blog of the test on the 27th at Bahrain:

http://blog.renaultf1.com/index.php?...in-testing-27-
02-07-01-03-07

"Ferrari did some extremely impressive race stints during the afternoon,
well ahead of all the other teams including McLaren."

and..

"Concerning Ferrari's pace today, suffice to say they would have won the
2006 Bahraini GP very comfortably running at that speed. It was very
impressive indeed."

"Even though driving two cars with different aerodynamic configurations -
old for the Brazilian, new engine cover and wings for the Finn - the two
have gone equally very fast, with Kimi slightly faster over the long run
although on the single lap (before the start of the simulation) it was
Felipe ahead. Merciless pace on the long runs in comparison to Alonso, also
doing long runs, at the end the the gap varying between 7 and 8 tenths."

There's also (obviously less reliable) word from a source on the Atlas
Forums who seems to have inside information associated with one of the
teams that:

- Ferrari are well ahead today. Long runs, single laps, whatever. They are
quickest by 0.5sec or so.
- BMW continue to show good form. Best of the rest.
- McLaren marginaly slower. Some quick laps first thing this morning but
nothing to shout about.
- Renault are in 4th spot
- Toyota and Red Bull seem well matched

Slightly faster is all it takes to win races. Faster over a single lap
in testing wins nothing, except maybe adulation from a guy in Texas
