The correct question should be "Why is Nascar?"

I'm not having a go at you here but I have a question. I've noticed
a lot of Americans use "cheater" instead of "cheat", do Americans
use "cheat" and if so why also use "cheater"? it's a very long time
since I attended school but I'm sure I'd have lost points for using
"cheater" in English! Anyway I'm just curious, no offence intended.

In American English (or simply 'American' as most Brits I've met
have asserted) the word 'cheater' is used quite often to denote one
who cheats. 'Cheat' is most often used as a verb and is not
commonly used to refer to one who cheats.

A point of view not supported by American dictionaries, of course.

I guess us Brits have a similar thing with the Rule and Ruler thing...

My teachers refused to lend a spare King or Queen, but would always
oblige with a steel rule.
The manager of our undergraduate workshop was strict on this - a ruler is
used for ruling lines, and it is typically an ebony rod, which he would
produce on request. If you wanted a steel rule you had to ask for one!

Umm, Webster's New World Dictionary does.
What does it say? Does it give "cheat" as a noun, with definition? Does it
give a shorter entry to "cheater"?

IRL cars are dangerous.

Anyone with a brain knows the technology and engineering of IRL, CART
and especially Nascar are not up to F1 standards.

I noticed you showered me with your substantial knowledge when I asked a
question, about IRL and safety, just recently.

A very lengthy group of definitions for "cheat" mostly as a verb but
also as a noun, and then a short entry for "cheater" that simply defines
it as one who cheats.

I assume you mean the engineering and technology relevant to safety. As I
normally consider myself to be equipped with a brain, or something fairly
close to one, I am curious as to in what ways the safety related features of
cars racing in America are deficient. Care to give a few examples?
