Good chance we might get back to Queensland late next year. You up for another drink/meal? Don't suppose you're still in touch with Geoff so that we can get you in a pincer movement again...? Ah-oh. Another Pom lining up our country for retirement. Soon everyone |

I even heard of a technique allegedly used by sprinters whereby they took blood donor sized samples of blood from athletes over a period of a year, say, and then used a machine similar to a dialysis machine to replace "tired" blood from the athlete's body with 100% oxygenated blood, originally from the same athlete! |

As do I - and at least most of them had the good grace to be fair minded about Austria 2002. There was no reason for them not to be. Team orders have been a part |

Not quite. The technique was to take a decent size quantity of blood from the athlete about a month or so before the event and then put it back immediately before the race. The idea was to give the athlete around 10%-15% extra oxygen carrying ability for a short period (a few days or so). One doesn't hear of it any more - I suspect that it's because it doesn't work but does anyone know for sure? Regards, vj I can't see why it shouldn't work. AFL footballers were doing the same |

There was no reason for them not to be. Team orders have been a part of motor racing since the year dot, and they still are. Mostly, the orders are perfectly reasonable and understandable by Joe Public. For example, do you remember the outcry when DC moved over for Mika Hakkinen? No, because there wasn't one, not even from the British press, because it was reasonable and understandable. |

To be honest, the only un-reasonable, non-understandable Team Order that I can recall was Austria 2002. And I can remember back before pit-to-driver radios... |

Of course. They are always 100% ethical and their word must never be doubted. See, I can do it too... Tell the truth you mean? Well sure - it is novel.. but I always believed in you enough to think that one day it would be possible. ;-7 Ah, bollix to ya. At least I know you don't take everything literally like the blind Kiwi... Good chance we might get back to Queensland late next year. You up for another drink/meal? Don't suppose you're still in touch with Geoff so that we can get you in a pincer movement again...? David |

I'd definitely be up for a chat David. |
