from autosport.com: "Jaguar and Jordan joined the fray, with Mark Webber and Ralf Firman in the hot seats. The pair kept ahead of the two new McLaren's of Pedro de la Rosa and Alex Wurz, with Pedro experiencing brake problems in the morning and a small fire in the afternoon." Even if the thing was 2sec/lap faster than any other car (today, Wurz and de la Rosa were 2secs off the pace), there's no way they can race it anytime soon. Getting the new car ready well in advance of the season (a la Williams) may seem old-fashioned, but maybe isn't such a bad idea after all. McLaren at the moment are working flat out on 3 cars - that can't do them any good. Gunther |
