So long as Eric didn't sing!

there's nothing wrong with Eric's voice.

Listen, I can't sing to save my life, but I got a better voice than
Clapton! He beats me on the guitar-playing front, though.
In you case its pretty hard not to beat you on any front, except perhaps
stupidity. Hold on a sec, I'll check with my spaniel............

He became better after a few years. But he's no singer.

My friend Ray, who I mentioned earlier as seeing Cream at the Royal Albert Hall,
said to me last weekend "Remember Danny Lanois?"

I said "Of course! He produced U2, Peter Gabriel and so on"

Ray said "I introduced you to him back in '81"

Me: "Oh! That Danny!" It was all coming back!

Shades of yesteryear.

Geeze. I have a memory like Swiss Cheeze. I totally forgot.

Lanois' (from Toronto area) rap sheet is right up there with Steve Lillywhite,
Bob Ezrin (another local) and a number of them.

Geez, put those two together and I'd rather watch a race. Clapton is the
most over-rated person on earth.
When Cream played the Royal Albert Hall, Jimmy Page, and just about every other
justifiable living guitar hero was there to see it go on. Including Keith
Richard.

Although, I don't think that the late Jeff Healey was there. He was alive and
kicking at the time. We lost him in 2008.

Man! Could he play.

But your opinion is worthless.

I was listening to a CBC program called "Q" a few weeks ago and they interviewd
the Scots actor Robert Carlyle. He's one of my favourites.

He's left the UK and (I guess) can't break into Hollywood) and is doing Stargate
Universe out of Vancouver.

It's a great series. But he did say that he's tired of the "British scene".

Which is weird, considering his pedigree.

I sampled it and it's pretty good.

There is a "sound barrier" to be broken when it comes to what you steal, and who
you steal it from.

There are a lot of bands who are up-and-coming that prefer if you steal their
stuff, 'cause then they'll get exposure and people will want to see them, and
they'll sell more stuff. Then there's the ones who have it all.

Back in the early 1970s when Led Zeppelin came to town, their manager Peter
Grant used to make a big show of marching into record stores and marching out
with their bootlegs. The media was always invited.

Now a days? No one cares about Zep. So Page, Plant and John Paul Jones
probably have guys checking out how many hits their stuff gets on Youtube!

And so it goes.

Stealing property is always bad. But when I download the Clapton / Winwood,
it's not of the quality that I want for my home theatre, so if it appeals to me
(and it does, thanks Paul). I'm a customer.

Paul B just sold another DVD of Clapton Winwood by telling me where I can
download the 1.4 gig sample. One suitable to watch and see on my computer, but
certainly not the one I want for keeps.

Super.
