Actually The Pope is probably the most overrated person on the planet - though the Dalai Lama is a close equal second with the Archbishop of Canterbury and Ayatollah Al Khamanei. |

Weird, as I have the Dalai Lama as most under-rated. |

There is a "sound barrier" to be broken when it comes to what you steal, and who you steal it from. There are a lot of bands who are up-and-coming that prefer if you steal their stuff, 'cause then they'll get exposure and people will want to see them, and they'll sell more stuff. Then there's the ones who have it all. Back in the early 1970s when Led Zeppelin came to town, their manager Peter Grant used to make a big show of marching into record stores and marching out with their bootlegs. The media was always invited. Now a days? No one cares about Zep. So Page, Plant and John Paul Jones probably have guys checking out how many hits their stuff gets on Youtube! And so it goes. Stealing property is always bad. But when I download the Clapton / Winwood, it's not of the quality that I want for my home theatre, so if it appeals to me (and it does, thanks Paul). I'm a customer. Paul B just sold another DVD of Clapton Winwood by telling me where I can download the 1.4 gig sample. One suitable to watch and see on my computer, but certainly not the one I want for keeps. Super. No one cares about Zep?? I bloody do. As it goes, I think Page is/was a better guitarist than Clapton, Hendrix, whoever. Just listen to the two breaks in the "Lemon Song" for instance. A lot of what Clapton does is incredibly repetitive. :-) |

Being able to shake Bert by the hand and have a little chat with him after a gig is one of the moments in my life I will never forget. That and sharing a couple of beers with Brian Robertson and talk shit about other TL guitarists. Phil - who has a Lemmy number of 3 |

Clapton is the most over-rated person on earth. Sure he is. But you can be both over-rated and really good. Nobody can live up to the hype around Clapton - including Clapton, and he didn't manufacture it and certainly doesn't buy into it. |
