You got proof?

If he's cheated, why has this just been determined?

Why not then?

Back then in 1999 they could not test for EPO. They can now.

Steve

Well then they should be able to find EPO or whatever else in the
hundreds of more recent samples right?

Armstrong is a heavily tested athlete in and out of season, he's
been tested 100s of times. Why are all the tests negative except
apparently this one?

Cheers.

Which one? These are just accusations. There is no evidence he used
any banned substance.
It's the usual crap, unsubstantiated accusations which no-one is
prepared to qualify with accurate sources.

I'm not a huge Armstrong fan, but I doubt that an athlete who's
recovered from near-terminal cancer would be prepared to fill himself
with dubious drugs. And, so far, not a single poster has been able to
do anything other than to either initiate or repeat unfounded, unproven
and unattributed stories which they then pass-off as "fact".

The "fact" is that Armstrong has never taken performance-enhancing
drugs, and anyone who says he has needs to post attributable sources
for their nonsense.

Which they can't, because Armstrong has never taken them. End of story!

Soap, toothpaste, and deodorant. (just heard it on fox news)

What's the big deal, he is a cheat, he takes drugs to enhance his
performance just like every other top rider. My advice to anyone who
doesn't like watching people cheating is don't watch cycling!

That's an interesting comment. Apparently he's undergone in excess of
five hundred drug tests in the course of his career, and every one has
come out negative.

So how is he a cheat?

i kind of think that todays top athletes are at least 5 years ahead with
stimulatnts, so the current tests cannot detect them

Actually that's not quite the case. The only thing that's still tough to
detect is "soda doping", most other tests in international sport use the
Olympic methods which are pretty good at detecting most everything.

That's why during the Olympics, they were still kicking people out!

Think of it this way, if they can tell your DNA from a tear drop on a
piece
of tissue paper in a test that takes hours, what makes you think that they
can't tell if someone is using a banned substance? Armstrong might have
been
using a substance that was banned in 2004 back in 1999, but that's
immaterial.

***Warning: this is not an Anti-Armstrong post***

it was and it is the big "art" of doping in sports to find substances which
cannot be detected by current
test methods, and sorry EPO was not banned in 2004 but years before.
Remember the Festina scandal
in 1998. Problem with EPO was a longtime, that in test the human produced
'stuff' couldn't be differentiated
from the artifical rEPO. Before that test became available and approved by
the authorities, the only to suspect,
that something EPO-related was wrong with a cyclist, was his hemocrit (sic?)
value. In the case that this value
was above 50%, the cyclist was banned for some races.
The Festina case was different, the were too stupid and had a whole
pharmaceutical facility with them.

Professional sports are just getting to the root of the problem, but I
doubt
if a elite athletic event like the Tour de France lets things go awry.

We all know that Rowdy Roddy Piper or Hulk Hogan never did 'roids? Ha!
Ha!

easy, you ! but you are hard to argue with...since you take it all as
anti-American and anti-Armstrong

But that's the message you're sending.

That's maybe the message you wanted to hear, but it was not meant to be.

Face it idiots. Some people really *are* that good.

thanks for the idiot, you ignorant fuck...some people really are that
good
cheating.
Remember King Carl, remember Marion Jones and all the other BALCOs

I can't even be bothered with pointing out the many flaws in your logic.

Suffice to say, the list of great champions in physical endevaour is
filled, by definition, with people who are, quite literally, in some
capacity "freakish" - larger than average lung capacity; more powerful
heart muscles; better oxygen absorption; exquisite hand-eye
coordination; etc., etc., etc.

FFS, look at Astronauts, Contortionists, or even ... Gosh! Formula One
drivers.

Not Only But Also:

The list of great champions who have never even had a whiff of
controversy over their careers, now, by your logic, just makes them
*all* just better cheats.
No, not *all*, but some. But have a look at the history of doping of some
sports and you may
see that a 'freakish' capacity, as you mention above is not enough to get on
the top and from time
to time an athlet need some 'medical help' to come forward or to recover
from injury.

OMFG. Why do I engage you retards.

(Probably because I'm a friend of John Malkovich. I met him in a
restaurant and got to talking. I complimented him on his portrayal of a
retard in that film where he played a retard. My brother's a retard, you
see.)

Dave.
