The idea popped up in the 1980s as the number of FIA race venues expanded globally and some questions were raised about the quality of local marshaling talent -- a core group of 100 or so FIA-licensed "professional marshals" to improve consistency and supplement locals. Time to revive it now that F1 and other events are essentially year-round and some venues lack FIA-caliber marshaling? |
