That was just practice for Spa '98!

Well it's a bit of an educated guessing game. How does he KNOW how
good the McLaren will be versus the opposition? Sure McLaren had the
impetus in the 2nd half of the season, but will that translate into
dominance next year? Especially when they will be eschewing the KERS
system that worked so well for them.

Answer: Who knows?

Heh. Wonder if there was a hopeful drivers queue to Brawn's door
around this time last year ?

It worked well for them because they developed it well - and they
managed to turn what was obviously a dog into a race-winning car
despite the ban on testing. In a game of percentages I'd back
McLaren.

An interesting observation. I understand that Brawn received subsidies from
Honda during last season which have dried up for 2010, Honda did a lot of work
in 2008 laying the foundation of the 2009 Brawn chassis, and Brawn bolted in a
Merc engine and turned it into a winner.

On the other hand and with their strong second half, and at least for 2010, it
appears that McLaren has the forward momentum, not Brawn (Mercedes).

Chassis, Engine and then the Driver is how I've witnessed it in the past.

I'm looking forward to how it plays out.

Not true.
Not subsidies, Honda paid Brawn a substantial sum to allow for
redundancies it was not an amount restricted to 2009 and indeed
believed to be in part the basis of the 2010 budget.

McLaren had forward momentum from the balance of KERS/Weight distro.
Take away KERS and they still have work to do, they can do that ...
but.

Brawn on the other hand stopped dev on the '09 car because they could
so the '10 car is ahead. AND the engine wiull not be bolted in, it
will be integrated.

McLaren and Brawn go into testing with Brawn ahead, we'll see where
they come our but my money is on Brawn.

You say that like it was a bad thing for Button.

If Kimi had been cheaper or Kovi much better, who knows where that
would have left Button.
Say what he likes, money is the driving force for Button.
What a shock!
