I'm primarily an F1 fan you nincompoop.

Nincompoop ? For fuck's sake, keep that sort of language to yourself,
this is a public news group.

;-p

What twaddle!

I think it's more properly said as 'twat waddle'.
Let me give you a bit more background on my perspective: I have three
sports channels over here: TSN, TSN2 (which is about 2-4 hours delayed of
what's on TSN2) and SPEED. there *are* no other sports channels available
in Canada period, Aside from a news ticker channel that shows about 10
minutes of any kind of european racing a week. Short of going for an
illegal (no sat company) dish and decoder and get the descramble codes
every month that's it. I have one real sport I like to watch: automobile
circuit racing to keep it simple. Now when I first got SPEED, they had F1,
A1GP, the German Touring Cars, Motorsport Mundaile (sp?) and Designed to
win (?) - the series with Alan De Cadenet on Sports and F1 cars where he
drives them on that one road. TSN had the F1 race and SPEED had the
qualifying, one practice and the race. SPEED also had the SCCA runoffs
along with formula atlantic. *All* of those with the exception of the F1
race have now been dropped from SPEED and replaced with a) A show about a
Tow truck company in Texas b) A show about kids that like to do stunts in
front of gang members on superbikes c) three yearly auctions of mostly US
cars (you hardly ever see the european cars) repeated endlessly. d)
Monster truck "racing" e) a quiz show where three people have to guess how
fast a car will do a 1/4 mile on a dragstrip. and About 5 shows about
NASCAR weekly. Along with all the NASCAR and truck races with about a 6
hour slot given to each. So of course I don't want to hear about NASCAR
here. It's completely OT and I can see about 6 hours of people talking
about NASCAR any day of the week on SPEED. The *only* consolation is that
now that BBC Canada is running a full commercial fill, (10-15
minutes/hour) (they used to have none when I first got it) I get to see
more than 20 episodes of Top Gear a year.

So in the summer when some of the NASCAR people started cross-posting here
to *my* posts, I was naturally irritated. Then when this Chad person
seemingly tried to "convert" me to the NASCAR "gospel" on *several*
occasions, I rebelled. I *dispise* NASCAR. It grew out of moonshine and
alcohol smuggling and has never gained any credibility IMHO. It's the only
type of car "racing" I know of where a car can put another car into the
wall *while* in the pit lane and suffer no penalties. I've seen it happen
by just channel flicking.

Oh, yes. TSN carries Indy. And one of our networks carried Champ Car when
it was around. Only the races.

I've *never* posted in the NASCAR group - except for crossposting from
here and I never will. I've heard other people rant about NASCAR. I'm just
doing the same and putting my foot down.

I'm not the culprit or the bad guy here.

Now if someone can explain to me why I should read about the "godliness of
NASCAR" here, I'd be extremely curious as to what reason could be used.

Nahhh, you're obviously a really nice open minded guy... who just happens to
be acting obnoxious, pushy and a little narcisitic today.

You sure seem happy enough to post multiple dissertations regarding your
opinion of NASCAR... but oh well, tis a free world here after all. ;-)

Have you heard about the moderated F1 group?

I'd just like to say that I agree with you completely. NASCAR isn't car
racing per se, it's a USAian corruption of the sport, the same way as
they've corrupted the English language...

Still, I like the sound of 'twat waddle'. I didn't know that it was an
actual phrase on Urban Dictionary, I lust liked the spoonerism.

I like NASCAR at Watkins Glen and that one in California. Road races.

I'm bored to tears with the rest of it.

Yeah, I've seen NASCARs on road courses back when I was able-bodied and had
enough money to have Sky TV and sometimes if I had a slow day I'd check out
whatever motorsport was on. I agree, far better than on ovals but still not
riveting IMO.
