the BBC's news being interviewed today... incase anyone gives a crap.

The newscaster showed her ditsy self by asking the particular stupid
question that isn't it contradictory for Michael to launch the
campaign for safe driving, when he and fellow drivers were in a
motorsport where the aim is to drive as fast as possible.
That's because she's swallowed the government mantra that so long as you
drive at the speed limit, nothing bad can happen.

What was his view of safe parking practices?

Say, for example, at la Rascasse?

They left out this:
I hear young people are drag racing on streets. Boys, you don't need
to do that. Keep it safe. A short chop to the left, one to the right,
it is not hard and you will stay in front.
When overtaking, please make sure that you cut in front of the other
driver as close to his front bumper as possible and as close to where
you would normally brake and turn, as possible. Honestly.
If another car wants to pass and you can't avoid it, jump the traffic
island. This is a safe practice at most speeds and the cops won't mind.
Effective 45 degree parking can be seen over there on the screen, as
demonstrated by me at Monaco. Naturally.
Additionally if it's raining hevily and you are miles ahead of
schedule, say on interstate 96, maintain or increase speed and soon
you can take a rest break.(sic.)

A speed *limit* isn't a guide at what you should be driving *at*
