Lamborgini's open 2-seater Murcielago is heavier than Mercedes' biggest
S-class 4-door 5-seater luxo-barge --- duh?

Does anyone know of other "fat" sports and GT cars?

McLaren-Mercedes SLR: A two-ton carbon fiber turd.

SLR : kerb weight 3732lbs

3734 lb -- not quite 2 tons. But when you've got 617 hp, who cares?
Those of us who enjoy cornering and appreciate agility in braking as
well, just might care. Gimme an Elise any day...

It's a big fat pimpmobile. The Elise is a sportscar. They're as

I don't think it's fair to compare it with the Elise - they're not
trying to do the same job at all. The McMerc is a GT, not a sports car -
its job is to whisk its owner across Europe at high speed in comfort and
style, which the Elise will not do well at all. Compare like with like -
the SLR is competing against the Scaglietti, Bentley Continental GT,
Mercedes SL600, etc. - and you see that it is probably better than all
those cars at what it does, but not 200,000UKP better.

LOL!

Speaking personally, I don't get why people think small sports cars are
seen to be uncomfortable. I drove all over Europe in my Marlin (with no
hood, just a tonneau!) without discomfort, and the adrenaline rush from
the performance more than made up for the lack of an autochange/central
heating/double glazing/air conditioning.

You gotta drive, so you might as well drive something that's fun, ffs.

Sorry, I don't really care about driving a Radio Flyer with a Toyota motor,
despite how it might corner.
