Tom Wheatcroft -

Sad to see that Tom Wheatcroft died yesterday, and particularly so
because the whole Donington fiasco means that his dream of Donington
once again becoming the home of the British GP will probably never
come to fruition.
I met him a couple of times when he was running Roger Williamson in F3
- although immensely wealthy he seemed a very genuine sort of bloke,
always willing to chat about motor racing and especially about the
great pre-war days of awesome Mercs and Auto Unions at Donington.
Also, of course, he gave us the Donington collection.
RIP
