I think Jeremy had a good point when he said, "how can the rest of America sleep at night knowing that this is here", or words to that effect. |

The Italians and the Turks are far worse... I can't recall the last time an English fan firebombed anyone, or shot anyone. |

The purest image I ever saw of that strange schizophrenic condition that afflicts the United States, was when I was on a bus going through DC, and saw a bunch of homeless folks sleeping on the steps near the gates to the Whitehouse. Interesting image, to say the very least. |

Top Gear was awesome last night. They had to buy cars in Miami for $1000 or less and drive them like 800 miles to New Orleans. When they went through Alabama they wrote slogans on each other's car like "NASCAR sucks", "Manlove Rules OK" and "Country and Western is Rubbish". They got attacked by rednecks. |

The English ones were (more recently than "a good few years") involved in all sorts of trouble. |

Top Gear always seem to fake up parts of their film inserts (the caravan holiday springs to mind, particularly the staged fire-y ending). |

I think you have to appreciate that most of it has to be faked to allow filming to take place. The episodes with Clarkson in a fast car dashing across the continent with the other two racing him in trains and planes springs to mind. How do the camera crew who film Clarkson blasting past at 150 mph get there? |
