mistake by alonso, and people are reading too much into it

Yer, but it was TESTING. There was really no need for him to have gone
into the corner like that.

Just because we read nothing into the test times doesn't mean the teams
don't - he has a job to do, and he was trying to do it, but overcooked it
a bit. Nothing to get that excited about and we'd know nothing if there
hadn't been a camera pointed at it.

I am in total agreement with all on this, its not worth getting in a paddy
over. FA has a job to do and IMO does it very well.
I stand by what I said, that it was only testing and with a requirement to
push to the limit blah blah blah. However, he could have pushed that limit
without pushing Massa there was no need to as News puts it to "test the
limits" there and then, he must have had empty track to do that on.

Another armchair steward...

It was "only" a quest for a lap time.

Maybe Massa ought not to have been out there tip-toeing around in the
"horribly" wet conditions...

Well, if you're being held up by someone and you just want to get on
with your programme, it would make sense to just overtake them, which
involves being faster than them - I guess he didn't intentionally go too
much faster than Massa, but he did, and they all make the occasional
mistake.
