Default 02 Express Mis-Firing - 02-24-2007 , 05:48 PM

My 02 Express, 4.3 Vortec, has an issue of mis-firing under heavey
load or step hills. New Wires, plugs, Cap, Coil Etc. The Computer Scan
shows
DTC P1381 Misfire Detected - No Communication with Brake Control
Module
Would the Brake Control Module actually cause the vehical to mis-fire
and hesitate and go crazy? It flashes the check engine light while
clinbing hills. Sometime works not to bad. When you leave in the
morning, It barley crawls up hill kicking and bucking.

Thanks

You need to pull history codes as well. The code indicates That it couldn't
determine if the crankshaft variations were being caused by misfires or
driving on a rough road surface. First an analysis of the OBDII data needs
to be done. Check history for any other codes set. ABS system needs to be
checked for codes. The most important part needed to troubleshoot the
problem is the service manual along with an OBDII scanner.

Could be vaccum, bad gas, low fuel pressure or bad fuel filter.
