Backwards battery in a 97' Buick Skylark -

I have a 97' Buick Skylark that ran like a gem until I changed the battery. I connected one post and started to connect the other when I realized it was connected backwards. I only touched the post for a second and sparks flew and now it will not start. I traced every wire, checked every fuse. The only thing I found was a wire burnt running to the starter and I replaced it and it still won't start. Could I have fried the computer? How can I check? Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.....Please Help!!! Thanks in advance, Big Irv
P.S. I'm in real need of some ideas of what kind of damage hooking up the battery backwards could have done. Also a way of checking to see or knowing for sure it's the computer that's fried. |
