I already did if you read my post. It was DO NOT DRIVE ONE DAY. That
will
have a much bigger impact that buying gas on a different day. No only
do
we
not buy gas on that day, we use a heck of a lot less of it. Think of
the
impact on mass transit systems, on industry, on the news, as well as
your
own wallet..

Okay, Ed....Pick a day

How about May 15, Ed ???;>)

hi people,, im probably off topic with this ,but here goes ,, The governments
of the world are very concerned about the climate change [warmin]and me also,
thats why the big thing on the gas users of the world,, but what about the
100`s of A bombs that were set off in the 50`s,, were talkin 1000 mega tonn
atomic bombs, this had a greater efect on the atmosphere, than our and future
generations could ever do..and it has taken 50 or so yrs to see the results
off them,, no bs this is fact ..
something to think about ,,, thx Dano

Emails are being circulated, suggesting that all of us avoid purchasing
gasoline
on May 15, as a show of awareness among drivers.

While it is unlikely to make any big difference, I cant see what it would
hurt
either.

It would be easy enough for most of us to fill up before or after that date,
and
see if a show of solidarity would have any effect.

Actually, this is not a fact. Atmospheric A-tests were soon recognized for
the
damage they had done, but some agencies of the government kept it very
secret
for years.

When I was a child, we could see the nuclear test flashes in the sky, even
though I
lived a thousand miles or more from the proving grounds. Fallout followed
the jet
stream and prevailing winds.

Tests in other parts of the world, Bikini Atoll for example, damaged or
killed people.

So what you say IS bullshit.

With greenhouse gases, you don't see the result so quickly. Earth has
undergone a
number of catastrophic climate changes in the past millennia. The biggest
extinction
event was not the one that took out the saurians. Not at all, even though
that one is
the most commonly cited.

All we can do is try to minimize the effects that WE are causing to the
environment.

The old saying goes 'the wise bird does not shit in his own nest'. We are
shitting in
our own nests, right now. This is not to say that, whatever we do, we can
avoid the
fickleness of nature. She can come back and wipe us all out.

The human race has survived a number of ice ages and warming events. Not
all
animals fared so well.

Whatever happens, outside of a cataclysmic extraterrestrial event (comet,
asteroid,
etc), the best we can hope for is to give our species the best chance of
survival.

Ignorance and foolishness is not a good basis upon which to predicate
survival of
species.
