My 2000 LeSabre has begun puking gas at fill up. I have the gas gauge sending unit problem and using my trip meter as a guide, all has been fine up to this point. At my re-fill mileage, I figure I've got about 3 or 4 gallons left in the tank so it's not empty. Fuel has to be put in SLOW up to the 5 or 6 additional gallons point. After that I can set the fuel auto stop tab and all is fine. Is this a venting problem? Why does it stop? What's the fix? Thanks. |

Gasoline gets into the vent system and carbon canister. This restricts the flow of air for venting. So check your evaporative emissions venting system (also could be a problem with a bad valve), and don't top off the tank. |
