Just traded my 01 civic for the 07. My round trip commute is 121 miles per day and has been showing that on past cars for 13 years. My new 07 is short by 2 miles per day. Of course this is good on resale value (which matters none when you put 150k on a car)...just curious if others have same problem. I figure the 55 tires throw it off? mike Honda just settled a class action law suit for odometers that tallied the |

Assuming they fixed the problem to avoid any more lawsuits, it is likely that all the other cars were wrong. You might try watching the odometer as you pass 40 or 50 mile markers along the side of the highway. That will tell you how close it is to correct. |

I've also driven the route in 5 other cars which each show 60.5 miles one way. Just thought someone might like to know. Of course, my car may be the only one that has the different reading? Maybe Honda decided to go too far in the other direction after the lawsuit:-)...who knows. Mike Try this: google Tire size calculator Miata or Tire size calculator Dodge, or try 1010tires.com. THey have tire size calcs; I believe the miata has a cross-section of a tire that shows the size difference. Punch in the stock tire size and check the diameter, then punch in your 55 series tires and check the diameter. This may account for your difference. |
